
Pianist Mira Hsinbei Sagmo enjoys a diverse career as soloist, chamber musician, and educator.
As a guest artist at the Pacific Music Festival in Japan, Dr. Sagmo has also performed in concerts with principal players and members of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics, Zurich Opera Orchestra and Symphony Orchestras of Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Montréal and NHK of Japan.
As an active chamber musician, Dr. Sagmo is a member of Gjøvik Trio at the Gjøvik kunst- og kulturskole. She has collaborated with such artists as violinists Miriam Fried, Matsuko Ushioda, violist Marcus Thompson, cellists Laurence Lesser, Gavriel Lipkind, Bong Ihn Koh, and members of the Kuss String Quartet, Avalon String Quartet and Jupiter String Quartet.
She has performed at venues including the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Montgomery Museum of Art in Alabama, Jordan Hall and the Isabelle Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, USA, the Festival Internacional Encuentros in Argentina, the Gwanju Arts Festival, Kumho Art Hall and LG Arts Center in Korea, the Banff Center for the Arts in Alberta, Canada, the Casals Hall and Tsuda Hall in Tokyo, the Kitari Hall in Sapporo, Japan, Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China, and Hanoi Conservatory of Music in Vietnam.
Dr. Sagmo is also a dedicated educator and is currently associate professor at Ingesund Music College at Karlstad University in Sweden. In the past, she has served on the faculties of Graduate Institute of Collaborative Piano at the Tainan National University of the Arts in Taiwan, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New England Conservatory of Music, North Carolina School of the Arts, Meadowmount School of Music, Pacific Music Festival, and Aspen Music Festival. Dr. Sagmo’s students has won prizes in major competitions and she is frequently invited to give master classes and has taught master classes at Sungkyul University and Sungshin Women’s University in South Korea, Conservatorio di Musica Dall’Abaco in Italy.
